Foundation Stone and Tronqueira Settlement

The reception of the foundation stone is the ritual that symbolizes the consecration and spiritual foundation of the place, preparing it to be a point of connection between the material and spiritual worlds. The cornerstone, as its name suggests, is the spiritual foundation of the house. It symbolizes stability, strength and the sustaining energy needed for the space to be suitable for the development of religious activities, such as giras, cults, healing work and spiritual services.
Our Terreiro is dedicated to Mother Oxum and Father Obaluaê. Oxum is one of the most important and revered Orixás. She is the goddess of love, beauty, fertility, fresh water and rivers, and is considered the protector of women, especially in matters related to motherhood, sensuality and caring for others.
The Tronqueira Settlement is also carried out, which aims to prepare the space for the installation of spiritual entities and the creation of a "tronqueira", a point of contact between the physical and spiritual planes. This ritual is particularly important for the entities of the Exu line, who are responsible for opening paths, protection and communication between the worlds.

Firmness for Father Obaluaê
Obaluaê, the Orixá Regent of the House, is one of the most important orixás in Umbanda, being considered the lord of health, illness, healing and spiritual transformation. He is synonymous with purification and regeneration, and his energy is directly associated with the cycles of life and death, as well as renewal and protection against illness and negative energies.

The Pretos Velhos act as guides and teachers, offering valuable advice and teachings that promote self-knowledge, healing and spiritual strengthening.

Path-Opening Work with the Gypsy People
In Umbanda, the gypsy people are one of the entities that manifest themselves in a very strong and characteristic way. Gypsies, in the spiritualist view, are associated with qualities such as freedom, joy, love, and deep spirituality. Their representations are often linked to the itinerant life and contact with the mysteries of nature, which makes them mediators between the physical and spiritual worlds.

Work and Firmness with the Gypsy People
Work carried out to open paths in Faith, Justice and Love.
Opening paths in Umbanda is a spiritual concept and practice that aims to remove obstacles and open up possibilities so that the individual can move towards their goals, whether in the personal, professional, romantic or spiritual field. This process is carried out by spiritual entities, such as Pretos Velhos, Caboclos, Ciganos, Exus, among others, who act as guides and protectors, using different tools and rituals.

Baptism in Umbanda
Baptism in Umbanda is a symbolic ritual of spiritual initiation, where the person is brought closer to the spiritual entities of the religion. This process marks the beginning of a journey of deeper connection with the Orixás, spiritual guides and the energy of Umbanda. Baptism is usually performed by a medium or leader, with the participation of other members of the house.
There are different types of baptism, which use different rituals, in our case the main elements were: salt in the eyes (to cleanse spiritual vision), oil in the ears (to listen more sensitively), honey in the mouth (to speak wisely) and waterfall water poured over the head (to remove blockages, to purify).

Mediumistic Development
Yemanja and Sailors
The development of Umbanda members is the process of spiritual and mediumistic growth that initiates or practitioners of the religion go through throughout their journey, guided by the Father and Mother of the House and receiving guidance from the most experienced.
Yemanjá is one of the most important Orixás in Umbanda, known as the mother of salt waters and lady of the sea. She represents the feminine principle, motherhood, protection, and healing. Yemanjá is associated with abundance, unconditional love, and the strength of the waters, which have the power to purify and renew.
The line of Sailors in Umbanda is made up of spirits who work under the protection of Yemanjá and are linked to the energies of the sea and waters. These sailors are entities that represent spiritual workers and navigators, with an energy of strength, courage and practical wisdom.

Baptism in Umbanda
Before the creation of the universe, everything was contained within Olorum (God), in a state of pure potentiality. There was nothing outside of Him. Olorum's first act of manifestation was to create a state of "absolute emptiness", a space where He could project His intentions before making them come true. In this context, Exu Mirim emerges as the guardian of these divine intentions, responsible for acting on the plane of ideas before they materialize.
Exu Mirim is recognized as the Guardian of Intentions. He should not be seen as just a mischievous figure, as is often imagined. Its mission is profound and essential: to manage all intentions, whether positive or negative, ensuring that only good intentions can manifest themselves. It acts as an energetic filter, blocking harmful intentions and facilitating the flow of intentions aligned with good.
